What comes first to your mind when you hear the word 'Project'? Are you thinking of something complex, take months or even years to complete, and involving a number of people?
Just to get your perception right, a project could be as simple as wrapping up a gift for your friend or cooking dinner for your family. According to Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), a project is a temporary endeavor, resulting in unique outcome, limited by constraints.

Therefore, any activity you do that is temporary and producing a different results, can be categorized as a project. While doing the same thing over and over again and producing the same result, such as cooking scrambled egg with exactly the same ingredients every morning, is categorized as an operational work.
And what is called as project management is simply applying your skill, knowledge and experience in order to make your project successful. In most cases the activity involves other people as your team. Going back to our wrapping up gift example, a project management is coordinating the work with your friends, sharing work on who is cutting the tape, who ties the ribbon, etc, plus making sure that the gift is wrapped in timely manner and preparing the material needed in order to have a beautiful piece of work.
Well, now you can define any activity in your daily life, which you can call a project. I bet if I ask you to name them now, you can mention more than 10 of daily life projects in one minute.
